Literature Text

I lie on my back as I stare at the sky
Cantaloupe orange, tinged purple with night
Clouds hover vacant over line between land
Line between sky, unvoyaged by man

How did I get here? I know I don't care
This place is so distant; they won't find me here
Should they stumble across me it really won't matter
Takes much to make my sunset world shatter

Kept safe by the guardian next to me
A soldier of pain, an angel set free
If the worst were to happen, an ace up my sleeve
A mastermind lurks in the building beneath

I sit up and squint at the cliff far across
An ocean between us, but not that far off
The pink cherry leaves gleam pink in the light
And that's when I see them, watching the night

Two of them standing right by the cliff
Eyes wander vacantly, thoughts far adrift
Blue lightning between them, sealing their meeting
I throw out a word, my voice, a greeting.

I know that they hear me, one of them waves
The other untrusting, a price badly paid
Insecure now, salvation lingers
I know he'll be fixed by careful fingers

I lie back beside you, soak in the sun
Feels great to just lie here, no longer run
Worlds far away from my place in the dark
The sun goes down, repairs all my scars.
Part of my English Language homework again... poetry time XD It was based on a picture but I can't find it... if I do so I shall post it here! :D

Dat cantaloupe ;)
